SANAA, 26 Oct — President Ali Abdullah Saleh is planning to ask the Parliament to vote for a number of constitutional amendments, the ruling party weekly, al-Mithaq said on Monday.  The amendments call for improving the political system, expanding local governance authority, and upgrading the work of the parliament and the shoura council, said al-Mithaq, adding “the proposed constitutional amendments constitute a national necessity in order to improve the political system in the country and extend public participation through the implementation of local governance with broad jurisdiction.”
